OUR CLIENT are an established block property management company with a widespread portfolio. They are now looking for a Service Charge Accountant for their new portfolio.


THE ROLE'S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SERVICE CHARGE ACCOUNTANT:

  • Distributing year end accounts to all leaseholders within 6 months of the relevant financial year.
  • Preparing service charge end of year accounts.
  • Preparing end of year accruals, prepayment schedules and calculating the developer’s voids. This includes liaising with independent accountants, the estate manager and the client to resolve accounting enquiries and obtain approval.
  • Raising service charge demands.
  • Managing the demand process including uploading the budget into the property system and sending demands in accordance with set deadlines.
  • Keeping up to date accounting records in relation to developer site completions; including retaining records of completion statements and cheques, raising pro rata service charge demands.
  • Ensuring that all client reporting requirements are met. This includes providing the client with approved financial reports, providing relevant information to support VAT Reports.
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Calculating and inputting all year end balancing adjustments to leaseholders.


THE PERSON'S REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SERVICE CHARGE ACCOUNTANT:

Essential:

  • At least 3 years’ experience of working a Client Accountant or Service Charge Accountant for a residential property company.
  • Experience of a property system MRI, YARDI, TRAMPS or similar.
  • Excellent numerical and reporting skills.
  • Team player.

Desirable:

  • New development experience.
  • Experience of producing budgets from scratch.
