Average house prices rose slightly in the 12 months to March, which is the first increase in a year.

The figures show a 0.2% increase, with Cambridge recording the biggest rise of 10%.

In London, the average house price rose 5% to nearly £307,000, above the peak of £303,700 in 2007 for the first time.

House prices rose 2.5% in Wales, but fell by 4.9% in Scotland and 0.9% in Northern Ireland.
