The
UK housing market has had its busiest month in more than a decade as sales top
£37bn.
According to Rightmove
agreed property sales rose by 48% compared with the same month last year, and
were 20% higher than the previous monthly record set in March 2017.
Rightmove said that
the average asking price on a property in Britain was now £319,497, slightly
lower than the record high of £320,265 in its July report, and mostly driven by
a 2% drop in London.
Bank of England data(£) tells a slightly
different story, with sales up 20% on last month and prices £10,000 higher.
