China is set to pass legislation that will allow it to sweep away home owners to make way for new developments.

Under current rules 100% of owners need to agree to relocate to allow new development to go ahead.

This has led to the curious site of “nail houses” – older, lowrise buildings squatting amid swathes of high rises, on land that is potentially worth millions of dollars.

Plans for Shenzhen in the south of China would allow the development to be green lit if only 95% agree.
