Britain’s hospitality sector has suffered a “catastrophic” collapse in sales of almost £30bn in Q2.

Revenues from April to June reached only £4.6bn, down from £34.2bn the previous year, according to the latest CGA UK Hospitality Tracker.

Kate Nicholls, chief executive of UK Hospitality, said the tracker highlighted “how precarious the present situation is”.
