Demand for London’s skyscrapers could
slump after the pandemic as big business moves away from big offices.
Lorenz Consultancy is predicting a 20%
cull in space from existing City occupiers, with many wanting to relocate to
smaller, more easily controllable spaces.
Speaking yesterday, the City minister,
John Glen, said banks with headquarters in London’s financial district would
need a smaller amount of office space after Covid-19.
