Footfall
in the London’s West End is down 63% on 2019 levels.
The data, from the New
West End Company, shows that footfall had been slowly rising since the
reopening on non-essential shops on 15 June, but has since plateaued.
The NWEC has called on
the government to extend the business rates holiday for another year, and on
the mayor to offer free travel into the city centre.
